yeah, still here.

Life just changed in a pretty big way. Sitting in the dark listening to the Ink Spots and drinking a ton of whiskey seems like the appropriate thing to do...

BACK IN THE WORLD!!!!!

Hello hello hello! Bet you're wondering where I was over the past few months. No? Ah well, I'll tell you anyway. Had a seasonal job over the holiday months, which payed pretty dang well- but left very, very little time for the hobby.
Well, my temporary assignment is over and The 'Goose is back into it! Building, painting, gaming- I am back, baby!

I did manage to squeeze out some painting though. The usual mix of Warmachine and 40K. Here's just a little snippet of what's been keeping me busy...

And that was just some of it.
Alrighty then. Thanks for having a peek. Be sure to swing by again soon.

And so it begins...

And thus, our hero builds his first Convergence models. I plan on running an assassination list with Aurora heading it up. It'll be a tier list, so I can max out to 5 units of Clockwork Angels. It's gonna' look so pretty when it's all finished.
If any of my other armies from any other game I play are any indication, then you can expect me to actually finish this army by the time we can buy the Superman/Batman movie on DVD...

A little bit of Blood Raven goodness.

Here's a pic of a very basic Tac squad of Blood Ravens. 5 men, with a Bolt Pistol/Chainsword sergeant. The Sarge is the only one built from actual tactical squad bits. The squad members are all made from the three-piece "Battle for Macragge" starter sprues. I had a whole BUNCH of those guys lying around.
I never really saw any of those starter-marines painted really well. Those are among the first minis that people ever paint up, so naturally we tend to see a lot of those starter marines painted like butt (to be quite frank about it). So I thought it would be a fun exercise to give them a decent paint job.
They look pretty dang good, if I do say so myself. Also, I'm not cool enough to print out my own decals, so the emblems on the shoulder guards are all done freehand :-P

In terms of using these guys in a game, I made the basing match my existing Black Templar marines, and my planned Imperial Fists marines. This way, I could play my Templars, Fists, and Blood Ravens as a Black Templar army, with allied Codex Marines.

Forward Kommander Sorscha

This is now my main warcaster for my Khador force. I painted her up for a contest online. I really like her sculpt. That face reminds me of a line from a Punisher comic.
"I don't smile much. I don't smile ever. But if I did, this would be one."
She was really fun to paint, and she's pretty awesome on the table.

Imperial Fists Dreadnought!

So here's something cool: an Imperial Fist Dreadnought! This is the dready from the Black Reach box, with a plasma cannon from the plastic Venerable Dreadnought kit. He also sports a resin 'Fist' icon from Forgeworld.
The green trim marks him as being part of the 4th Company.

I really wish I airbrushed it. It took SO LONG! Hand painted, building up from black primer. Why start with black primer if I was going to paint it bright yellow? Because I'm a mad man!

Khador Battlegroup

I'm really loving Warmachine right now. I play Khador. I started off my force with the Battlegroup box. Here's a pic assembled, then painted. I'm working on other people's models so much that I hardly get to paint my own stuff. These two pictures were taken almost a year apart.

These were really fun to paint, and I especially like how the Juggernaut's Ice Axe came out.

First pic! Enjoy.

I was thinking about what the first mini-pic should be. I have decided that since Games Workshop's Lord of the Rings game is what got me into the hobby back in 2005, the first picture I post should be one of my Uruk-Hai warriors.
This particular mini was painted last year. The ones I painted back in 05/06 look... well, like all our first minis looked :D

Hey how's it going everyone. First post of the brand-new blog! This used to be the blog for my old webcomic, which I took down a year or so ago. If you remember that, then I say "Hi Jeremy".
This blog will be about my hobbies, mostly tabletop gaming. It'll be a showcase for my model building/miniatures painting, my art, RPGaming, and I'll probably sneak in some cooking stuff here and there too.
So, to all five of you, I say "Welcome!"
